You have two ways to track an import air freight forwarding.
• Manually, connect the airline internet site, insert the awb code and wait for the answer;
• Set a small “watchdog” in your operational software and make it ask the airline for you.
In both cases you can decide the frequency, depending on the status too.
As soon as the awb code is known, the “watchdog” program will ask the airline for the status and, in case of discrepancy, a warning message or alert signal will be sent to the deputy operator to manage it.
Usually, operational software has “user defined” flags that can be used to put in evidence a freight forwarding operation, so you have not to change the main program. Only a trigger has to be added to a table of a relational database to activate the watchdog program.
If you already have a “business rules manager” program, it is the watchdog program, and you have only to add a new rule.
